The Birth Of Our Creation

The Project

Our team called Vaexon Industries is developing a 2 minute sci fi trailer that will become our showreel and final project as students at SAE Perth.

Our World

On a frozen ice planet named Zenvar, two sides battle for the control of the planet. The Vaspians are the natives which live amongst the land and the Krozan forces are invading their homeworld for resources and slaves. This is a science fiction epic that has an underlining backstory that lies beneath the visuals.

Meet The Team

Our team consists of three members and a fourth who has since left our project to pursue other endeavours.

Joshua Nicholson - Team Manager, Enviromental Design, Filming and Animation.

James Donovan - Vehicle Design, Unwrapping, Texturing.

Daniel Fried - Sound Engineer, Music Composer.

Jordan Eggmolessee - Character Modeller.

Production Process

Our project is following a scrum method which we are accomplishing in stages of 6 week intervals similar to a game production.

Pre Production - Concept and Design stage of the project which we established our world and story narrative.

Pre Alpha - Essentially porduction has started and we start creating our vision and world. Modelling environments in Unreal 4, Modelling the mothership and characters are in process. Demo tracks are being created to present the feel and mood of the world that we want the audience to feel from viewing.

Alpha - Modelling is part way through and the mothership is nearly complete and ready for texturing. Two characters have been complete in low poly, rigged and animated for implementation into the scene. Most of the sound effects are complete and music is getting mixed ready to be synced to an animatic.
